Leadership Team

Melanie Litchfield, Director
Melanie received her degree in Public Relations from Southern Adventist University in 2007. While attending Southern, Melanie gathered experience planning events and writing for various publications including Adventist Today. Melanie also spent a year teaching as a student missionary in a remote village of Guyana, South America. She later lived and studied in the South of France.
Her role as Director involves mobilizing support for the foundation’s unique mission by developing communication strategies and coordinating its special events, including our nationwide Renaissance Adventist Education summits.
“I joined the foundation because its purpose inspires me,” Melanie says. “I feel I have fresh insight and ideas to bring to the table, and I’m looking forward to capturing the attention and influence of those who want to make a lasting difference on the future of Adventist education.”

Melissa Cechota, Communications Coordinator
Melissa received her degree in Mass Communications – Writing/Editing from Southern Adventist University in 2009. After high school, she worked full-time in internal revenue for the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper for four years, and then as a Traffic assistant for ABC, NBC and the WB for nearly two years, before deciding to return to college to pursue her interest in the media field further. She has since become a published writer, and has held editor positions for the Southern Accent newspaper, as well as the Southern Communicator newsletter.
Melissa worked full-time while attending Southern full-time, and is an extremely dedicated individual – no matter the task at hand, she is diligent and determined to give it her best. Along with the skills she has gained through her communications studies, Melissa has worked as a member of Human Resources at Target for almost six years. She thrives on increasing morale through open communication and event planning for employees, hence making her an asset to any public relations or marketing team.
She admits that her passions are strongly grounded in any humanitarian pursuit, and therefore Melissa‘s interest in AAF is evident – we serve a purpose, and she is excited to be a part of our team.
As Communications Coordinator for AAF, Melissa works to create the needed materials for conventions we visit, as well as the Renaissance Adventist Education invitation packages and programs, and related Renaissance correspondence. She will also assist with the upcoming website re-design and other media vehicles for sharing AAF news.
